An engine is a machine capable of transforming the energy stored in fuels, batteries or other energy sources capable of performing mechanical work. In fact this car is a force that produces motion of the vehicle.

There are several types, classified them in common:
-Heat engines, when work is obtained from some temperature differences.
-Electric motors, when work is obtained from an electric current.
-Internal combustion engines, when the work comes from fossil fuels like oil.

For wind turbines, hydroelectric plants and nuclear reactors also becomes a kind of energy into another. However, the word engine is reserved for cases in which the immediate result is mechanical energy.
